Chapel today Major Rik Anderson Maddox's dad spoke about Afghanistan Week 8 T2 2010
LoganPlease bow your heads
As we light our candle we are reminded about the strength it brings to our life.
The candle shares the light. Just like this candle we can share and show others our love. Jesus told us to love other people.
Amen
Joe
Our reading comes from Mark Chapter 1 verse 21-29
In the synagogue Jesus taught the people about God.
Jesus stayed with his friends Peter and Andrew. He healed Peter’s mother-in-law who was sick.
Many sick people waited outside Peter and Andrew’s house.
They asked Jesus to help them, and he did.
The next morning
Jesus got up early before it was day. He went quietly out of the house. His friends were still asleep, where he prayed. Soon some people came to the house to see Jesus, so Peter and the others went out looking for him.
There they found him, alone in this quiet place, talking to God,, and listening to God.
Our theme today is leadership.
Amen
Please stand quietly for our song
Ian
Today in chapel we have Ric Anderson [Maddox’s dad from Year 2] who will be talking about his time in Afghanistan.
Thank you for coming to talk to us today about leadership.
Thank you for talking to us about your time in Afghanistan. We pray for all of the military who are making a difference in our world.
Logan
As we blow out the candle we think of the flame as the colour of our faith. The light of Christ in every day.
Today Saeran and Harry are going to play their wind instruments with Tui.
Would Mr Owen like to say a few words?
Thank you Mr Owen
