More exposition text types..Do you agree???? T3 09

Exposition
I disagree that children should eat lollies every day.
Firstly….It’s a waste of money to buy lollies.
Secondly….. You will get fat and there is a good chance of dying.
Thirdly…If you eat lollies every day your parents can go bankrupt and maybe you don’t have any money, so you don’t have any money so you can starve because you can’t buy anything to eat.
Finally…. What’s the point?.... Lollies are not good for you so it’s a big waste of money.
So whatever you do don’t buy lollies every day.
William
Exposition
I strongly believe that all children shouldn’t eat lollies every day.
Firstly your teeth will rot and your parents will have to pay a lot of money for you to go to the dentist.
Secondly you would get fat and you may get sick.
Thirdly you would go bankrupt from bringing in the candy.
Finally you will have to wear braces because your teeth will bend.
So that is why I strongly believe that all children shouldn’t eat lollies every day.
Charles
Exposition
Some lollies are good for you
I absolutely think every child should eat lollies everyday because you need some sugar and you can just brush your teeth. When you are an adult you can get healthy again.
Firstly if you get too fat you can start having a diet and start eating health food.
Secondly children beg their parents to give them lollies, every day, but if they give them lollies, the parents won’t get annoyed.
Thirdly if the children don’t get enough lollies they would complain and get grouchy and angry.
Finally even if those lollies aren’t good for you, some are.
Will

Exposition
I hardly believe people should eat lollies because you only need to brush your teeth every day.
Firstly everybody needs a little bit of sugar.
Secondly you don’t need to go to the dentist.
Thirdly lollies taste yum.
Finally lollies are cool.
I believe people should eat lollies. Horray!!!!!!
Robert
Exposition
I disagree that children should eat lollies all of the time because ….
Firstly your parents have to pay for the lollies.
Secondly your teeth will rot because you will have too much sugar in your body.
Thirdly lollies are a waste of money.
Finally the drilling at the dentist hurts too much.
That’s why I disagree that children should have lollies all the time.
Theo
Exposition
I strongly believe that cats are better than dogs because cats could jump higher than dogs. They run up and down the tree.
Firstly dogs whine in the middle of the night. Cats just walk out the front door.
Secondly the cats have better eyesight.
Thirdly dogs have sharper teeth.
Finally cats are younger than dogs.
Thomas

Exposition
I disagree that children shouldn’t eat too many lollies a day because your teeth will rot.
You will go fat and there is too much sugar that can make you go hyper eg break stuff like rip the curtains and tip glass.
Firstly you have to go to the doctor and that is worse than the dentist. They will do an operation which hurts more.
Secondly you will be so hyper that you break the car, so your parents will have to walk you there.
Thirdly it will take you all day.
Finally you will have to pay the hospital maybe a hundred dollars for your child.
Hrithik

Exposition
I strongly believe that dogs are better than cats because they don’t throw up fur-balls which is gross.
Firstly cats climb up tress and it is annoying because you have get the fire brigade to save them.
Secondly dogs can save your life because they can swim and if you are drowning they can save you.
Thirdly they can find robbers so the police can arrest them and the cat would be scared of the robbers.
Finally dogs wee in the garden and don’t make a mess. Cats do!
So if you want a dog, get a dog because they are the best pets ever!

Compare and contrasting festivals..Does our definition of a festival fit with all festivals?

Last week the class defined what they believed to be the definition of a festival.
This week, the children are comparing and contrasting two festivals. The Hanukkah and Chinese New Year. Do they have characteristics that are in common? Will our definition fit all festivals?
