Reflective writing on our NZ Speech Board Examination T2 2010

Reflective writing NZ Speech Board
It felt really good my talk because I got to say cool facts and of course I really like talking. So I thought that I couldn't do it but I did do it.
This is what you have to do.
  • Engage the audience
  • Give a smile
  • Not swallow your words
  • Don't whisper

I was happy to find my result. Nobody got fail, pass or commended.

So you either got Highly Commended or Distinction. So I got Distinction. I think I got it because I worked my best I could do.

Maybe you will have the same story if you have a Speech Board. I learnt you have to do the best you can do. Alexi

I did my speech on the Royal Albatross because I saw it a few times at the South Island in the holidays.

When I did, I knew I was going to do it well and I did. I'm not going to tell you because it is complete privacy.

Well now I am happy because I got lots of support by other people because I was a little bit shy. But because they supported me, my shyness went away.

So I want to thank the people who supported me, including Mrs Garland. I got distinction.

There were 15 pictures and each and everyone represented something.

At school we had to do a NZ Speech Board. My speech was on Suzuki Camp. I learnt that to point to the pictures, look at the audience and speak louder on the day.

I felt excited and nervous but I said to myself "You can do it. Just try your very best."

I felt really proud on the day because it was going to be my first badge. Ruaridh
