Numeracy group learning

These photos show our children writing down the learning intention we will be covering in the lesson.
Number sequence and order.
This group is learning how to quickly sequence numbers and skip count forwards and backwards.
We played a game called 'buzz'.
eg counting in 5's but starting from 7......

After the lesson the children take time to reflect on what they have been learning. This helps us to see how they are feeling in their learning and what they need to help with in constructing meaning. They link their reflection with their learning intention.

Tomorrow we are learning about multiplication and division. We love maths.

The children in the backgroup are on matheletics.

Group work in numeracy

Part of our teaching and learning in numeracy looks at teaching number knowledge.
We share our learning intentions with our children.
Today this group was learning to identify whole numbers and to count backwards and forwards using a fan.
As the students' knowledge develops, bigger whole numbers can be used. The children are learning how to say 6 digit numbers and learning about place value eg take 200 off your number.
Our class loves maths!
Tomorrow we start multiplication and division...

Anne Familton has organised a group of Year 3 boys to spend 10 minutes hearing some younger children in their reading and developing their spelling fluency.

Hockey T2 09

Today we enjoyed working with Damien during our PE session.

We learnt how to hold a hockey stick and be safe at all times.

We learnt different techniques like stopping the ball and playing with a partner.

Can you see how careful we are holding the hockey stick?

We enjoyed playing a game!

Guess what nobody scored......the teams played extremely well together.

We had a great PE lesson today.

Clay work Tuesday with Eve

Today the boys worked with Eve creating texture and shaping with clay.
criteria for assessment

Working with clay -making a turtle shape
Revisting clay model to rework and make changes
Makes alterations that refine original work and adds detail
Shows perseverance and care when finishing
